Useful Resources:
Michigan Department of Education has chosen the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) as our K–12 science content standards. The NGSS were developed by states to improve science education for all students. A goal for developing the NGSS was to create a set of research-based, up-to-date K–12 science standards. At Fenton Area Public Schools, we use a rigorous curricular resource selection process to choose which resources we will use to teach these standards the state as set for us.
We utilize Mystery Science at the elementary level and Mi-Star Curriculum at the middle school level which is a curriculum created in partnership with Michigan Technological University.
We are also currently undergoing a curricular resource audit at the high school level to ensure we have updated resources that match the NGSS standards.
