MTSS - What Is It?
Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is defined as a prevention-based framework of team-driven, data-based problem-solving for improving the outcomes of every student. Through family, school, and community partnering and a layered continuum of evidence-based practices applied at the classroom, school, district, regional, and state level. Put another way, MTSS is a systemic framework in which data-based problem-solving and decision-making i s practiced and revised for supporting students' needs . The framework of MTSS is a "way of doing business" which utilizes high-quality, evidence-based instruction, intervention, and assessment practices t o ensure that every student has access to and receives the appropriate level of support to be successful.
Why MTSS?
To ensure successful educational outcomes for all students, FAPS will implement a multi-
tiered system of support, utilizing data-based approaches to meet the academic, behavioral and social-emotional needs of students. Addressing these needs of the whole child provides the greatest opportunity for our students to learn, grow and achieve. FAPS is committed to a Universal Standard of Care (USC) to promote success for ALL students.
