Happy Snow Day Everyone!
I thought we could send out this week's newsletter a day early to get you caught up on some events. I apologize for not sending a newsletter out last week. The long and short of it is that there was a software update, which created some issues for some of our programs, including the newsletter platform. We are still limping along with a few systems and are working hard to fix them, so we appreciate your patience. So, this week, I am sending you last week's (#19) and this week's (#20) newsletters. For up-to-date information on calendars, and upcoming events for the next couple of weeks, such as vocal and band concerts, please refer to #20. To see photos of some of our amazing swimmers, divers, and volleyball players, an Athlete of the Week recipient (psst...it's a hockey player), and some student work from Spanish 1, then scroll through updated #19.
Remember some key events are going on this weekend (12/6 - 12/8) that will showcase the talents of over a hundred FHS students. Here's this weekend's lineup:
IB Theater presents The Importance of Being Earnest on Friday at 7 pm and Sunday at 3 pm in the Blackbox Theater at FHS. The cost is $8 or $5 for students with a student ID.
The Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball have their first home league doubleheader vs Swartz Creek on Friday starting at 5:30 pm in the Main Gym.
The Fenton Marching Band will perform in the Jinglefest Holiday Lighted Parade on Saturday starting at 6:00 pm in downtown Fenton.
When we have information about the canceled school day events from today (Women and the Workforce Field Trip & GCI Presentation for 10th graders), we'll share that with the student body.
We look forward to having students and staff back in school on Friday and we hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Yours in Education,
Michael Bakker, Principal
