Parent/child playgroups are available for all children ages birth-5 yrs old and a caregiver. Any family is welcome; you do not have to live in Fenton or live in the school district. Each group meets multiple times per week and offers an assortment of activities designed to engage the child and his/her caregiver.
JumpStart playgroup – this is FREE for families that qualify based on income. Birth to Age 5 ~ Parent/Child Program
This is a United Way granted program that is available for all communities. Eligibility for this program is determined by the State of Michigan’s income qualifications. To be eligible children must be Birth-Age 5 and meet the at-risk criteria used to determine eligibility of the children for the GSRP ~ Great Start Readiness Program.
JumpStart will be using PAT ~ Parents As Teachers curriculum which is a nationally recognized and evidence-based curriculum designed for families with children Birth-Age 5. Parents As Teachers developmental home visits will be available to all families.
JumpStart offerings will include play-based, literacy, sensory-play, and small/large motor groups. These groups will be held on a weekly basis. JumpStart is designed to provide strong family involvement and parent education components, as well as early childhood education.
JumpStart will incorporate all aspects of developmentally appropriate programming; social-emotional, fine/gross motor, intellect and language skills. Together we will work to maximize these skills to provide your child with the best JumpStart possible.
